Cardiology society of Serbia is a member of the European society of cardiology, ESC and World heart federation, WHF.
Collective members in CSS are the Cardiology section of Serbian medical society and Cardiology section of medical society of Montenegro. We have published 234 works in whole in international magazines quoted in the MEDLINE (National Library of Medicine, USA)database. Our authors have been quoted 8 times in 6. edition of Braunwald's cardiology textbook, and 11 times in the 2nd edition of Topol's textbook. We have 33 members with the Fellow European Society of Cardiology (FESC) title and seven members of Fellow American College of Cardiology - FESC. Society's members have held in the past decade 12 lecutres on call at ongresses of the European society of cardiology and organizes three educational programmes in 2002, two in Belgrade and one in Marburg in Germany:

- "Recent advances in pericardial diseases and cardiac inflammation" Marburg, Germany 11/2002
Our members participated in writing national recommendations for the prevention of ischemic heart disease and chest pain as well as recommendations of European Association of Cardiologists for Diagnosis and Treatment of Pericardial Diseases: Maisch B, Adler Y, Erbel R, Rienmüller R, Ristic AD, Seferovic PM, Thiene G, Tomkowski W, Yacoub MH. Scientific statement of the European Society of Cardiology: Diagnosis and management of pericardial diseases. Eur Heart J 2003; 24: in press. At the congresses of the European society of cardiology, members of our association had a significant number of presentations (period 1994 - 2002 presented in the table and graph). The six most recent European congresses have our members regularly honored to chair the sessions.
In the same period we had 31 presentations at congresses of the American College of Cardiology, and at the last held The World Congress of Cardiologists members of the Association of Cardiologists of Serbia and Montenegro had 60 papers accepted for presentation. Congresses of the society of Cardiologists of Yugoslavia have been held in conjunction with the Congress of Cardiologists of Serbia in recent years with about 1000 participants every year.
